"Optimizing Photogrammetric Operations at GDOT", a digital
photogrammetric research project was performed under the
direction of Dr. Bishwa Acharya for the United States
Federal Highway Administration and the Georgia Department
of Transportation through the University of Georgia. The
study findings were published in the ASCE Journal as,
"Digital Terrain Model (DTM): Extraction & Accuracy Assessment"
(PWE-Acharya & Chaturvedi). Subsequent research with digital
photogrammetry was performed in 1999. Conclusions of the
second study found digital photogrammetry accuracies to
be superior to conventional analytical photogrammetry
(relative to DTM collection). Findings will appear in
the proceedings of the ISPRS 2000 Congress as, "Accuracy
Assessment of DTM Data: A Cost Effective Approach for
a Large Scale Digital Mapping Project", Acharya, et al.
A white paper report on optimization of present-day
photogrammetric techniques was performed in anticipation
of the ISPRS 2000 Congress. Findings will be published
as part of the proceedings (PWE: Acharya, et al)
